Navajo WIC NUTRITION PROGRAM
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, known as WIC, is a nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding women and families with children younger than 5 years of age.
AS A WIC CLIENT, YOU WILL GET: Personalized nutrition education and services Healthy food Nutrient dense, prescribed food packages Tips for feeding infants and children to create healthy habits for a lifetime Screenings and referrals for health care and social services Breastfeeding support, education and assessments
WIC FOODS — WHAT CAN YOU BUY WIC helps you buy many of the healthy foods already on your grocery list. The WIC foods in your monthly food package are low in fat, high in fiber, help you get important nutrients, and promote a healthy weight.
